Maybe it's me, but everytime I log in and then move within the site (forum to search back to forum) I have to log in again. Is this something I'm doing wrong or SOP around the site? I know other sites I haunt don't require me to log in again and use the same software.

Todd ..... Go to The User Control Panel, Then Click Edit Options and the third row down where it says

Browse board with cookies?

Clicking yes will use cookies to keep your id for this session. Clicking no will send it through the links. (Selecting no may cause problems when sharing links with people behind the same proxy as you)

Make sure the option is checked yes.

It's most likely your security settings in IE (assuming that's what you are using). Microsoft changed the default settings around version 5. 5 (I think) to default it to not accept cookies. The site relies on cookies to keep your username and password for access to various parts of the site. Make sure that in your user control panel that browse board with cookies is on like TMTT said. Then do this:

1. Pull down the tools menu to internet options

2. Click on security tab

3. click on the green circle with the check mark labeled trusted sites

4. click on the sites button just below that

5. uncheck the box that says require server verification (https:) . . .

6. type www.turbodieselregister.com in the box up top and click on add (you should now see www.turbodieselregister.com listed below)

7. recheck the require server verification box

8. click on ok a couple times

9. go to the site and log in

that should take care of it for you. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Thanks a ton guys

Your suggestions seem to have fixed my problems. I was getting pretty frustrated but everything appears OK now.

Todd... . I was going to tell you this is part of the honeymoon process on the TDR, for at least 25 posts. But, after the responses that have preceeded this, I doubt you'll pay much attention.

Welcome to the TDR
