:D Went to run a few errands this morning and pulled out on to 99E and headed towards Portland. Got to the first light and another Dodge, same color as mine pulled up on the drivers side. Light turned green and off we went. I was unaware that I was in a race as of that moment. I just shifted up through the gears and when I got to the next light, the other fellow was about one length behind. Light turned green and we started off again, only this time the other guy was getting into it. I finally became aware that I was not wanted in the lead. :D Ah the joy of sports:p Hit 4th gear and stomped on it. Waited at the next light for the other guy to catch up. That's when I found out it was a lady. :D She was upset and all kinds of mad at me. You would have thought I had just called off a date or something. You know how a CAT looks when you tease em real bad with the ears going flat and the eyes norrowed down, ready to claw your arm up if given the chance. :D Yea that kind of mad.

Course, ;) I'll be heck if you think I'm going to tell her I'm boosted. :D :D

It was fun though. Oo.

I ran up against a lifted black Dodge the other day on Hwy 26 just east of Hillsboro. I guess he saw the small puff of smoke as I cruised down the on ramp..... next thing I know there is a Dodge truck on my butt wanting to play..... so I just left it in 6th and hammered down. I backed off to let him catch up, and it was on again. His truck was debadged like mine, and I could not tell over the scream of my turbo what engine he had.

I took him, but not by much. he just gave me an nod as I cruised past.

Well since we're talking about female drivers today let me tell you what happened on my way to work. I was on the bypass in my local town and I came up behind a horse trailer at a red light. Well my intention was to get over in the right lane and get off the bypass onto the main highway and right into work.

Well the light turned green and the trailer took off at regular speed. I jumped up behind it and got over in the right lane. Well I sped up and noticed that it was being pulled by a brand new Chevy Ext. Cab 4x4 Dually. :p I was like man I wish that thing didn't have the trailer on it cause I wanted to race a Duramax. Well just as I get up to about door to door with this truck (not sure if it was a Duramax or Gas burner, just saw 3500 badges). I barely glanced over not even seeing the passenger... THE DRIVER FLOORS IT!

Well this driver had a straight stretch and off it went, and I had 4 cars in my lane in front of me. I sat there thinking "man I wish these 4 cars would move" when all of a sudden like magic all 4 got off at the exit I was intending to take.

I thought PLAY TIME! I dropped to 4th gear wound it out to about 2400RPM as I went flying up beside the Chevy, shifted to 5th and BYE BYE!:-laf (wonder if they saw the Got Smoke? sticker right below my tailgate latch?)

Well I left them and came up on the next red light and now had to turn left to go to work. So I got over in the left hand turning lane, and a few seconds later the Chevy came slowly up beside me slowing for the red light. Guess what? It was a woman!:--)

Guess she found out that a Cummins can move! Just wish either I had been loaded or she had been unloaded so it would have been more fair.

Mundgyver, where did you dyno 330 HP with just the 275's and an EZ? I would love to compare trucks.

I dyno'd at 358 HP with DD3's and the Puck out here in Hillsboro.

When I had just the EZ I was at 262 at the rear wheels. Dynoed in willsonville. When I got the 275's in I went back so see what the difference was.

I'm going down to Provo, Utah this next week and am thinking about stopping in at Edge and seeing if I can trade my EZ for a Comp.

This was the best move I ever made. I use to have the EZ edge and traded up to the comp. Now im nothing but :D :D :D

Freak I am surprised you havent went that route yet your self. Its great to have the control to add a extra 80 hp if someone wants to @$%@ with you.

330hp

A 68hp gain by just installing a set of 275 on an HO motor! That gain is unheard of. With a stock ETH clutch are you sure the dyno wasn't reading spikes while the clutch was slipping and grabbing?

The guys in Wilsonville could not give me a Torque readings when I went there. I'm not sure why. I've heard about another outfit up in Lake Oswego that a friend of mine uses for his vette. When I get back from Utah, I'm going to find them and see what they offer and probably go ahead and get a reading from them. The read out I got in Wilsonville only showed Miles per hour and Horse power where his had HP, TQ, Speed & RPM.

Stock clutch is good up to about 850/860 torque, that was what I have been told by the Cummins mechanic that installed my injectors. If I hit it really hard at the bottom of 3rd gear, I will feel some slight shuttering. I'm not able to tell weather this is a torque slip or the start of fuel starvation. Problem is that I run out of gear before I want too and have to shift to keep from over reving. I have not put a fuel gage on yet. My EGT's will hit 1250 for a moment, after that the turbo is making time. I use 32 oz of Power Service additive with each tank. When we pulled the stock injectors for the 275 upgrade, there was no carbon build up and they looked almost new. They had around 57,000 on them at the time. :)

hehe, I have not had the need to upgrade yet... have not been beat by a Ford or Chevy truck yet.

I thought that Wilsonville was a Dr. P Sponsored Dyno. That would explain the deviation.

I think I will go there today!

Wilsonville Dyno Evaluation!

Here are my results.

Ambient air temp: 66. 8F

Humidity: Close to 100%

The conditions sucked for good dyno numbers!

All dyno runs at this facility have a 1. 2 correction factor

I ran four dyno runs, and the worst was the last run at..... drum roll please... .....

382 HP at 64 MPH ... . very close to 2500 RPM.

I did this just to check the accuracy of this specific "yard stick"

Does this mean I have 382 HP? No, I am going to still claim 358 HP.

The guys there did not expect me to pull that hard. :D :p

Very good Cliff

You've got me by 3hp. I have no idea if BD was doing any correction factor thing at Dyno Day but 355 is what I put down with the DD2s & Bully CPC.

We are back and I've traded the EZ for the COMP Model. Now I have to go find a Dyno. I don't knw wheather I will ues Wilsonville or another one. Got to do some research on dynos. The guys at Edge told me that different models of dynos will give different results because of how they are set up and such. I have to get the Comp installed yet. My drive back from Utah, was interesting as the truck felt animic with out the EZ. Looking forward to seeing what she will feel like with this new one. :D :D

Haven't told my wife yet. It will be fun when she gets her first ride after I get it in. :D

:D What does All dyno runs at this facility have a 1. 2 correction factor mean to those of us not well versed in the science of dynos. My self tutelage for better understanding begins with the install of the COMP. :D I now have the ability to do serious damage if not carefull.

Correction factors can be used to make up for changes in temperature, barametric pressure, humidity, and driveline losses (paracitic losses) since Willsonville is essentially at Sea Level, I really do not know why they use a correction factor. A CF of 1. 2 basicly adds 20% to the power applied to the roller.
