Hi,

I have a '99 2500 4x4, 89K miles. Just joined this site today and this is my first post. Looks like a great place to share info and tips--looking forward to it.

I recently replaced my OEM aluminum 16x6. 5 rims and stock Michelin LT245 75 16 tires with Eagle Alloy 16x8 rims and Cooper Discoverer LT265 75 16s. I needed the 3,400 pound-per-tire load rating, as I work my truck pretty hard. As you'd expect with the aftermarket rims and available offsets, the tires extend past the body about an inch (I wasn't interested in going with a shallower rim by grinding the drums and tie rods like I've read on several threads on here).

So I figure I need to buy a fender flare kit. Does Mopar make such a kit and if they do, do you know of an inexpensive place or dealer (preferably on-line) where I can purchase (just for my general knowledge, where is a good place to buy OEM parts)? My local Dodge dealer is pretty overpriced. If Mopar doesn't make a kit, who would have a good quality aftermarket kit? Is installation straightforward?

Also, does anyone know if LT 245 75 16s will mount safely on 16x8 rims. A friend of mine has some and I could give the tires to him if they would fit.

Thanks for the help.

Fender Flares

Bushwacker makes a set of flares that are called oem, the extend out about 1-1/2 and look really nice i saw a couple of trucks running around town with them on. You might look on ebay to find a set, my thoughts.

The Mopar flares are actually Xenon. I think they look good, and fit well. Do a search, there are a lot of opinions and pictures.....
