I'm getting ready to get some 295/75/16 BFG TA K/O's on the BRT. As I understand from reading several posts about larger tires, these things can kick up a lot of road junk. I have mud flat now but they don't stick out very far.

I am considering dressing the BRT up a bit with some fender flares (probably black)to help prevent some paint chipping. Any opinions (photo's!?) on brands and/or designs.

I have the 295's as well. A great tire size IMHO for the 2500. I experienced no rubbing whatsoever when they were installed. I to am debating fender flares but on stock rims they come right to the edge. I used the pro flap mud flaps though. they fit perfect with the tires ( not to wide - not to thin )

I've heard the Warn fender flares fit really well on our trucks. Also consider Xenon flares. I've heard good things about them to. \

Eventually I'll be lookin for fender flares myself so i'm going to follow this thread closely.

Be safe.

Hey all,

I have been really happy with my Bushwacker Exstenda-Fender flares. They are a great fit, come with a rubber piece that rides on the paint so it won't scratch, and mounts pretty easy too with aluminum pop rivets drilled from the under side of the wheel well. They already come with a nice black finish, I didn't have to paint them, and they haven't faded either. I have had them four years now.

Here are some pic's

Xenon fender flares fit great. They use a double back sponge tape to hold the outer edge to the fenderand then a couple of screws on the underside. I ran these on my '95.

I chose AGR flares for my '01. These flares add about 3/8" more tire coverage than above. These use a rubber type material between the upper flare and fender and a couple of screws to attach. These are a hard plastic type material where the Xenons are a rubber type material. Here is a link to my truck https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=21835 . Sam

I had the EGR's for about 8 monthes before I took them off. They were a great fit initially but over the 8 month period they on both of the fronts the bottom of the fender flare that is directly behind the tire started to come loose. I did not want all the vigration to start rubbing away at the paint and started to even look kind of bad.

Luckily I did, after removing the flares I did notice that the paint was just starting to get rubbed off. Nothing some rubbin compound could not take care of.

But they did look great while they were on.

The legality thing varies a lot state to state. They're pretty lax in CO, sometimes they bust the Hondas but the only one I know of getting busted in a 4x was a Jeep buddy running 38x12. 5s, with the whole tire sticking outside the body. I run 15-39. 5x15s on the Blazer with no flares (don't even have the stock fender bulges anymore) and haven't had a prob. yet, however I don't drive it much. As far as flares go, I like the Dodgezilla ones. Never have like bushwackers, the look like dually fenders. :D
