I ordered a pair of rear wheel fender liners for my 02 2500 with a part# I got off this site-55346010. Part#B2207367 is what came, one marked R and one L. The holes do not line up and the screws that came with it do not fit the holes in the bed. The liner does not fit correctly. What happened? Are the liners different for the 02 models?

55346010 SHIELD, Wheelhouse is what you want. Right and left are identical.

"Are the liners different for the 02 models?"

A better explanation is that in 2002 there is 3rd generation sheet metal on the 1500's and 2nd generation sheet metal on the 2500's and 3500's. The liner you received will fit a 2002 1500.

For your information, the liners are secured with P/N 34201631 RIVET, M6. 25x28 Black - seven per side. These are essentially quarter inch pop rivets, similar to those that join the upper and lower valances at each side of the front bumper. A search of this board using "55346010 " may give you some insite into how some TDR members have secured the liners without the special rivets. The rivets are spendy at the dealer and require a special tool to set.

Have fun!

Having just installed the liners in my '02 a matter of days ago I will say that the rivets are a complete PITA if you don't have the right tool.

I tried using a box end wrench to hold the rivet & pulling the pin with pliers - it worked for some, but for others it just snapped the pin out of the rivet without flaring it.

A regular pop-rivet gun will not fit the plastic rivets, and I was unsuccessful in my quest for an inexpensive plastic rivet gun.

There are two options that I would suggest:

1. Use some kind of black finished nuts & bolts to affix the liners (you can get at the backside of almost all the attaching points)

or

2. Swing by a bodyshop once you've put the liners in place and ask them to set the rivets for you. My local shop refused to charge me though I did contribute to the coffee/pizza fund. On a 4x4 you don't even need to jack up the truck or remove the wheel.

You will probably want to remove the small, rubber mini-flaps that are at the back of the wheelwell before putting in the big liners. Just work the fasteners loose.
