Hi my name is Jim and I’m a BOMBer

First Time Dyno's

An earnest young man informed me that his buddy, who just bought 3 PSDs for his contracting firm, told him that: Ferd owns Cummins and apparently Ferd and Dodge worked a deal whereby Ferd allows Dodge to use the "inferior" Cummins 5. 9 while reserving the "Superior" PSD for itself... . In return Ferd got to copy the Dodge ( 93-02) styling which is why Ferds look so much like Dodges... ... ... The Killer is that his buddy first went to the local Dodge dealer, ( Terrible rep in this town) intending to buy 3 Cummins/Dodges but the salesman wouldn't deal and so angered him that he went to Ferd where the salesman explained the above arrangement to him. This young fellow had inherited the business from his old man and was replacing three 91 Dodge/Cummins which "still run good, but are beat to *****". I Told my friend to tell his buddy to hang on to the three 91s, "just in case"... ... ... ... ... What was it that PT barnum said about a sucker being born every minute... ... .

Ford does own Cummins. Cummins tool copany that is. The "best" tools on the market from packastan, india, and china ever imported to this country. They do truckload sales at my local VFW several times a year. Good thing the wrenches are like $9. 99 for 14 piece set because you will need 10 sets to work on one truck before you break all of one size. :D Oo.

Cummins was in our town today. A couple of years back my wife was sweet enough to get me some extra tools when they were in town. Each of the crows foot bars broke on the first use. Nobody has ever been able to make the band saw cut straight. Most of the end wrenches broke on the first or second use including the bigger sizes like 1. 25 inch. Maybe they make the new Ford injectors too!

They DO have a very few things that are useful: they're a good source of cutting wheels for a 4. 5" angle grinder.

Homier is another outfit that has similar, but somewhat better, stuff.

At one point in the 90's I think, Ford did buy less than 1% of

Cummins Int. common stock. For diversity on Ford's behalf. Cummins has since then bought back all the stock Ford owned.

And I believe Cummins recently signed a new long term contract with DC. And I also believe part of the contract was that Cummins would be exclusive for Dodge in the light pick up market for some time.

Here is a better one:

Dodge bought 51% of Ford Stock and "forced" Ford to sign an agreement to stop selling the PSD because it was hurting the reputation of the Diesel Market.

(Note: ... and then I woke up)

Rumors

Couple weeks ago I got cornered by the fraud posse at work, they were bangin' their chests saying the samething. Since it was the first I heard about it I couldn't fire back. So whats the deal, just tools that its. And is the 51% thing, is that something I could find on the web so I can stomp on a few egos tomorrow and keep them thinking all weekend?

Greyghost; you might......

also let the posse know that FORD puts the cummins 5. 9 in their F-650 & F-750 while limiting the PSD to F-650 and smaller... ... That fact shut the Ferd posse up at my work faster then anything I could say...

Stepson

Stepson sells Ferds. He started that line on me right after he went to work for Phord dealer. I told him he might want to check the facts before he told the wrong person this little line and got busted. He did and now knows better, he said he had it out with sales manager over it though. Seems sales manager heard this rumor from someone and started telling all his salesmen. Funny how rumors get started. Did you know that Dodge owns Navistar? :D

Daimler-Chrysler owns Detroit Diesel which is near as bad as Navistar.

Cummins Tools makes Harbor Freight appear top quality.
