After reading others posts regarding extended warranties, it seems the Factory one is best.
I bought my truck new last Jan and paid $3195 for a 10/100k “Platinum” warranty through Fidelity Warranty Services.
The form has “Carefree Car Protection” written on the top of the form.
The dealer said this was better as it covered more. (Maybe better for them?)
Does anyone have this warranty or have heard anything about it.
I can cancel it now and get $2800 back.
Im thinking about this and either getting the Factory or taking my chances and pocketing the money.
I have a srw Tradesman with Aisin and 1 yr/12,500 miles have not had any issues.
What do the experts say?

Powertrain ain't "Bumper to Bumper". What does the warranty cover or is it an exclusion policy? A policy will list specific things it covers or (exclusion) list the things it won't cover covering what isn't listed. And what does it cover vs. the FCA factory warranties? Aka Emissions, powertrain, Bumper to Bumper from FCA covers something.

The online reviews of warranties mean something. We have one good warranty and one bad warranty on some other rides. Seriously after a radiator blew up we had to explain to warranty company there wasn't a separate part number for the side tank, yes part of the radiator itself, that cracked and split open. Radiator covered, but, tanks like a surge tank are not covered hence the BS fight. Nevermind the absolute waste of shop time on the phone wasted on hold. Flipside is some warranties saved my butt. Used pickup went through a transmission that it's slipping overspeed the engine taking out the bearings - all were covered in addition to some other expensive repairs that would be minor compared to the major ones they covered. You don't need to loose something major to have a big repair bill. One ECM of many onboard is enough to start adding up. What's the Factory Warranty cost? Yes, dealer finance makes their commission on warranties, paint protector, gap protection, and other things added in their office.

The factory service contracts are by far the best available. I would cancel and purchase a Mopar warranty if you think you need the coverage. I have the Mopar warranty on my truck and will probably purchase it for the wifes car as it has much more high tech stuff on it than my truck.

These days, the key is the coverage of electronics. A sensor can take a whole lot down with it. Factory contracts almost always cover these in their top-tier plans. You'll also discover (as JDoremire did), today's components are inseparable assemblies - if one component goes, you have to replace the whole thing. Ford guys hate that if the power folding mechanism of their tow mirrors fails, the ENTIRE mirror unit has to be replaced... even if there's nothing else wrong with it.

Get the most comprehensive factory plan you can afford - and do shop around. Any FCA dealer can sell you the factory contract, and some make a nice side business of selling them with minimal markup.

Dump Fidelity ASAP as it is one of the worst in the industry. Read the fine print on the contract - which they don’t post anywhere online - and you’ll see how poorly you’re covered. Read the section on doing your own maintenance and it will make your blood boil. Failure to have it maintained by the selling dealer will result in a voided claim. Go with FCA Factory Warranty like I did and you’ll sleep better. Ziegler in Michigan has great prices. I picked up an FCA genuine factory warranty with 8/120,000 miles with a $100 deductible for just under $2000. Bob Cline - and FCA - will treat you much better than Fidelity would in its best day.

Read the fine print on the back of your Fidelity contract and it will blow your mind. They don’t put their Terms and Conditions online as no one one buy it. And look at what is says about doing your own maintenance...it can void your extended warranty. Dump it and call Bob Cline at Ziegler in Michigan as he will see you an FCA extended warranty for under $2000 for a 120,000/8 year warranty. And you’ll sleep better...

8 year/100,000 mile extended FCA MAXCARE warranty with a $100 deductible
Use Promo Code: DPACIFICA

Cost for a 2017 3500CC in California with 13,000 miles on it will cost you $2755

I will finish what I started above. Get yer money back. Now since you have plenty of time left on your 3/36 wait til it's almost done then decide if you really are concerned enough to want to buy an extended warranty. I have one but it's a ZERO deductible.

X2 Go factory or pocket the money!

Yep, it'll be better for the dealer because Fidelity won't cover anything and you'll be paying retail for repairs!

Thanks for the great info, calling to cancel today.
Funny thing is they didn’t even give me the contract so I don’t know what is covered or excluded.
Good info for future buyers.

While we are talking warranties, has anyone had experience with GEICO's mechanical warranty? It cost less then $50 (every 6 months) {to original owner, must by prior to 15 months -15k miles}.
I had it on my 94 F250 7.3 but never had to use it in 23 years, (the good old days) so I can't say how they would handle it. It would seem to be a nice inexpensive compromise. Anyone ever use it?

Listen to sag2 and cancel!!

Buy the factory warranty ASAP!,

Do not buy anything ever again from that dealership again, factory warranty would have cost you less & covered you better for more miles & months.

While you are at it call several dealerships and get prices on Max care, shop for price.

I believe you have 12 moths to the day to add factory w/out price going up, someone please correct me if I’m wrong about this.
