okay ... ... ..... ported is the obvious answer in any finish.

now we are getting down to brass tacks ... ... ... ... I'm gonna have me one regardless :D

Jeff,

Is the fuel filter cover going to use your oil filter tool to install it? I don't need your oil filter tool because my oil filter is the smooth type. I believe only the 2003 and up uses your oil filter tool.

What about black?

hmmm, apparently somebody hasn't been paying attention ... ... ... ... you need to move to the front of the class so you won't be distracted! :D

The fluted filter fits from '89 to current. Yes, my socket will fit the fuel filter cover the way I've got it in my head. Yes, all other oil filter sockets will fit as well. Yes I believe my cover looks good too :D No, little hex popped up in the middle of no where.

Besides that, turning a 5" thread is more stable with a 3. 5" socket than it is with an 1-1/8" or what ever it is hex, it is pretty strong plastic, but it aint gonna last!

Why would I do that?? It's already black, I'm looking for something that stands out and looks good. A custom piece is not supposed to blend in!

I'm sooo far behind here. Forget sitting in the back of class I didn't even show up until dead week!

The filter cap sounds awesome, especially blue with the "C". It sounds like I'll need the filter socket to get it off though and I missed that deal. Honestly I've never needed one but is sounds like a must have item! I'll vote blue but please send me some details.

SRadke,

The socket deal is not over, I've made more than originally intended. You can buy one, or any other filter socket will fit as well. The flute pattern is pretty universal.

This fuel cap were talk en about is the one you have in the classified section right? It will feature a nut on top which will require a 1inch socket or wrench, and is the one that is going to be blue with the C correct. If so count me in for one.

1/2 inch recessed square drive to take it on and off, like you did on your oil filter wrench. That way the nice blue finish wont get marked up.

No, I have never done a classified. The cap in the classifieds is very functional I'm sure. I just saw it looking a little sleeker in my mind and have the ability to make it happen, and a little cheaper to boot. I didn't even know about that cap until Cary brought it to my attention. I'm still not doing black Cary, LOL.

Again, a blind, square hole can get costly without specialized tooling.

RE: Fuel filter cap

Count me in for one or two with Blue and the big C If the price is right:D

Any idea of price:confused:

Thanks

David:D :D :D Oo. Oo. Oo.

I'll take one of whatever you make, but you might consider a big C on the red just like the blue. My first choice would be red w/ 'C'.
