Just bought the filter kit from Genos for my NV-5600. The instructions do not list the 5600, only the 4500. I am wondering what side of the transmission to install the filter.

Any advice on where to buy the Texaco transmission lube will be appreciated. DC wants more than $10 a quart.

Thanks

Bill

2000 Ram 3500 4X2 6 spd 29K miles, Patriot Blue. Stock except for 2" lower in the front and 4" lower in the rear (Bell Tech).

Put it on the passenger side, the driver side is supposed ot have a magnet on it. Throw away the supplied paper / cork gaskets and use silicone instead. The 4500 and 5600 use universal PTO covers so it will fit both. I bought 5 gallons of Texaco MTX for $55 from a Texaco distributor. They wont want to order such a small quantity. I had to get hold of a Texaco corp rep and have him refer me to a wholesaler, amazingly they suddenly were able to locate it in thier catalog. Seems to me it was product # 1674. I can find the exact part number if you need.

Texas Diesel,

I would greatly appreciate the part number, and also a phone number for Texaco so I can call and try locating some of this lube for my DEE transmission.

Thanks!

Tom

Texaco has redesigned it's website and my bookmark doesnt works any more. The above link indicates the MTX as part # 1874. I will attach a picture of the 5 gallon conainer. Thr place I got it from here in Texas said it was shippable. The distributors name is "Big Chief Distributing" in Killeen, TX BIG CHIEF DISTR COMPANY, INC.
