1) When the engine is running... does it pulled down and stay there until one hits the reset button? or 2) Does one have to have the engine running, have someone rev the Cummins while I watch the Filter Minder to see it move?

The little disk is always at the top. Never seems to move...

I do change the air filter with a new fleetguard about every 15 to 20 thousand miles... if that has any effect on what I am NOT seeing.

Thanks...

On my truck when it gets pulled down it stays there. I hit the yellow button on top and it pops back to the top. Maybe yours is broken? Or you just don't suck as much hot air as some people. HAHA

without any fueling modifications and the frequent changes you are probably not capable of getting it to register anything. back when my truck was stock and brand new I used to change the airfilter every 2nd or third oil change as a test for the gauge I decided to leave the airfilter it took a long time before I got it to register. I switched to a 10 plate and boost elbow and I could bury the gauge on a brand new air filter

you are changing your air filter way to often. as a air filter get's dirtier it filters better. you are throwing away a better filter than the one you are putting in. the reason is the filter has various size holes in the media. the larger holes have the less resistance and therefore most air goes through them as they start to fill up it forces the air to go through smaller holes. our large equipment and trucks come with instructions not to over service for this reason. just change the filter by the filter minder. do the same with the fuel filter. your truck has the vp44 injection pump it requires extra fuel for lubrication and cooling and a cloged filter or bad lift pump will cause pump failure in a very short time. install a gauge to monitor, connect it directly to the vp44 and do not let it get below 4 psi under load

In 130k mi I've had the filter minder move once about half way down after pulling up to Eisenhower tunnel on I-70 pulling my 12500 5er.

I used to get 30,000 miles out my air filters before the filter minder went to the red now a days I suck burndt oil fumes in I change every 12 to 18 months(filter minder still in up position).

good to know as i'm nearing 30,000 miles.

and i'm yet to see it move more than a hair after towing.

any comments on the afe cone filter for the stock housing.

i'm thinking of that filter when the truck needs a new filter.
