My personal opinion is if it's moving at all the filter is out of there. I can't imagine letting one suck down to where it says change filter! I never saw mine move when I had the stock box. I now have a BHAF and no minder.
 
Never saw mine move either. So I placed saran wrap over the filter element to plug it as thou it were not passing any air, or getting any air. At idle it would not move the filter minder at all, and keep on running. Then I gave it the throttle while watching it and it sucked it right down to the bottom. So if you are waiting to see the thing move, you will probably experience other problems before you notice that its telling you to change your filter.
 
Come to think of it, I never saw the thing move on mine either, then again I usually checked the filter out myself. Its sitting in the garage with the stock airbox.
