So I was wondering if there is any data out there as to what is better.

If not, what is your opinion.

I have always run Fleetguard filters for Oil, Air and Fuel.

How does Wix and/or the Amsoil Eao filters compare to the Fleetguard?

I would not say donaldson is better, but probably a filter with a different (read better) rating. All three have filters of varying quality...

Any of those three listed will serve the purpose just fine. I will be changing to Wix since I can get them by the case from a member of the forum.

It has been stated that all three manufacturers in question make different lines of filters. I assume that we would compare only the premium offering from each.

Due to price and availability, I used to a Hastings oil filter on my truck. Due to the same price and availability equation, I recently switched to the ELF series Donaldson. I swear I could tell the difference after only one oil change. Normally, I go about 6 months and 3000 miles on an oil change. This last time, I went 8 months and 3900 miles. The oil seemed cleaner running the ELF Donaldson. That said, I think that the EaO Amsoil is the best available. The Wix/Napa is good also.

I agree with Steve each brand has their better filters but in general Fleetguard is a pretty safe bet IMO.

When it comes to the regular engine oil filters I used to run Baldwin and Wix now and then, until I held one of each of these next to a Fleetguard Stratapore filter and saw they had smaller and/or fewer oil passage holes. For most guys likely no big deal but it might matter for those sustaining high EGT. The B-series oil pump flows over 20 gallons per minute, largely for piston cooling and I wouldn't want my filter limiting that.
