I have found that Wagner makes a hydraulic operated treadle valve making it possible to operate trailer air brakes from the hydraulic brake line pressure on my Dodge. So, if I correctly plumb all the air lines with protection valves, check valves, reserve tanks, etc. , I think it may finally be possible to start pulling my float trailer w/ air brakes! I finally will be able to run 15K axles with air brakes that would offer a positive braking power directly proportional to brake peddle pressure applied at the truck. It will be great to have the confidence of panic stopping PLUS finally not have to pay the ridiculously high price for those Dexter & Al-Ko brake parts! Has anyone out there managed to make this Hydraulic over air conversion before? It would be great to hear your input!
