Competition September 20 pull at Sumas Washington

Well, I went and did it and bought a new set of tires. I ended up buy a set of Interco LTB 34x10. 50x16's. These things have some wicked lugs on them and sing like a c130 on takeoff, but they don't ride any worse than my bfg's did with 65lbs of pressure. Here are pics.

One word... ... ... ..... SAAAWEET!

How did they balance? I was pretty much set on 285 BFG Muds, but now  . Can you post a picture of the side profile, showing how the sidewall bulges?

Your truck's looking good.

I just put a set of 37/12. 5R16 on my truck on my truck saturday now i just have to sell my others 315/75R16 and stock wheels.

Later,

Trey

HillCountry, here are some more pics of the tires, I will warn you that the tires are bias ply and not radials. I'm not sure how long they will last. Since I only drive about a 1000 miles a month in my truck, they should last a little while.

they are a soft compound figure about 10-12k of normal drivin

& fronts wear fast , rotate them often too get every penny out of them but my friend swears by them

I run MUD KINGS 285/75/R16 ( 33" ) they have a harder compound & I get about 35-40k out of a set , hard drivin, heavy loads( 10k on the truck & tow a 10k chipper ) , & off road use every day

they are hard too find but at $145 on the truck they cant be beat

IMO

Great Lookin truck , love the Air bully hood

Thanks Morph. For $120 a pop, I might just give them a try. It'll be a while before I need tires, so I might check up with you later to see how you like them.

Those ott'a

really toss the mud and if you're nor carefull - allow you to get really stuck a long way from anyplace..... I'm sure they're noisy - but you can't have great traction and be quiet.

The last time I got stuck, was when I had the crappy stock tires on the truck. When I had my farm, my ruts down into the pasture were to the frame, going out was all up hill as well. 3rd gear in 4x4 hi, and never let up. Oh, the hood is an Air Ram II hood from USBody. I figured around the 15-20k mile mark on the tires, which will put me sometime next year, which will work out fine, as then I will probably be going with some 35x12. 50x16 Truxxus mt's

The Hood

I kind'a know about the hoods, but not this one. How does it work to provide air, i. e. is it somehow hooked up to the intake??? What sort of bucks are we talking and what are the benefits - other than looks.

Right now the hood just provides cool air into the engine compartment. I'm going to be building an air box system for it in the future. The hood costs around 600 or so bucks.
