Finally got Lance mounted

After towing my 5th wheel over 4000 miles since I got the 2014 3500, I finally got around to adding HappiJac camper tie downs to the truck. I also added swing out jack brackets to the camper to allow me to get it on a DRW. A lot of drilling and bolting but no rocket science required.

We took our little Lance on a camping trip today. The DRW really handles the camper well. My 2005 3500 SRW handled it fine too but the dually is even more stable. I didn't add any additional sway bars, just stock. The Lance 850 is pretty light and doesn't even get close to my maximum gross weight. No worry about taking extra stuff along anymore.

How visible is the truck bed when loading your Lance? Do you have the optional HMSL camera? I am wondering how much less of the truck bed is visible from the driver's seat (longer cab) when backing under the camper compared to a 3rd gen quad-cab. I have always used a strip of white tape on in the center of my black rubber bed mat to align with the camper when backing under it.

Yep, I've installed several sets of H-J camper tie downs... measure twice, drill once. I also placed a piece of plywood between the back of the truck cab and in front of the truck bed in case the drill bit unexpectedly breaks through.

The bed is not very visible, the rear head rests and the large space behind the driver don't help either. I do not have the HMSL camera. I like your idea with the tape. I'll have to try that next time. I mostly used the side mirrors to get the gap between the fenders and the jacks about the same and then getting in and out of the truck a lot.
