Neighbors are complaining it is too loud, I'm lovin' it, the smell of diesel, and the sound of the Cummins, I think my wife is jealous.

DBeeman,

Contgrats on the new truck! I don't think my neighbors are fond of the sound of my truck but nobody has complained to my face. They are just envious because we have the capability of being able to pull the Empire State Building if we put a strap around it and they can't do that with a gasser:-laf :-laf

My wife is jealous of my truck too even though she won't admit it... she drives a VW Beetle:D Enjoy your new ride!

Thanks guys. I am very happy with my new truck, only have a couple of things to fix/add. I neglected to ask for the fog lamps, wife doesn't like the empty holes, so that is priority #1, no receiver hitch, easy fix, and then the biggee, no limited slip, I did not even think to ask about it, and as I bought this truck long distance, well. Anyhow not going to let it rain on my Cummins parade, I am stoked about this truck. With the 7yr 100,000mi warranty, I am guessing an aftermarket LS setup would void my warranty, how much are the dealers charging for the upgrade? I am happy as a pig in, well you know, to have found this site. Thanks for the advice.

warranty

congrats on ur new truck dave!!! u will find mixed opinions about wether or not to invest in lsd(not the drug), but for the most part most guys here are their own warranty station. . be sure ur local dealer has decent people working in their garage before u let them touch your baby... she may never be the same after leaving there... just my 2 cents

One more quick question guys. Now I have been around the block a time or three, and I thought that with an open diff, I would only spin one tire, now yesterday, I romped on her a wee bit, and the rear end broke loose(packed dirt and some scattered gravel) got a little sideways, anyhow, when I looked back, there were two very distinct spin marks for about 25 feet in an arc. Now was this just because it was dirt and gravel, or could they have made a mistake with the codes in my truck? Since they won't warranty the LSD anyway, I am going to shop around and find the setup I like, don't do enough serious off road work to justify a true locker, want to save my money for things like the pillar guage setup. Thanks for the warm welcome, really like the site.

It was probably the dirt & gravel. There is a tag on the rear end with info. It will tell you gear ratio plus it will have LS on the tag if it has it. Hope this helps. Jeff:cool:

Hey, that's great Dave  . I remember my first days (this is my first diesel also). The sounds, the smells. Enjoy it ;) . Took me over 3 months before I even tried the cd player, the music of the Cummins was enough for me.
