Well after worrying about because it is said to fall out more in 97 Model Cummins I finally killed my killer dowel pin today with the help of Tom from BMD.

Spent the majority of the day at BMD, had a great time hanging out with Tom, Will, & friends. Got to watch him do the majority of the KDP jig fix(so many things were going on a once).

If you haven't taken care of your KDP go see Tom, or someone in your area that can take care of it for you.

P. S. Tom has a new mascot since the Grand Opening. Be careful you don't step on her the next time your at BMD she bites OUCH!:eek: :{

We had a great time having you up here to visit us, Mark. Hope to see you again soon, whether you bring the checkbook or not! :D You have a nice truck, I enjoyed working on it.

Finally went in after mine at My Mechanics shop.

WE did the tab fix. My dowel pin was out about 1/8" to 1/4" sorry didn't measure it(forgot to take a picture). Mechanic made a tab out of scap metal. Not to bad of job started on Thursday (waited for a seal until Friday at aprox noon. Put most of it back together by quitting time. Finished it Saturday morning.

We took out radiator, fan shroud with over-flow bottle attached and washer bottle unattached.

Battery connection cable can be placed on top or valve cover with out taking off cables to either battery. Gave us(me) plenty of room to work.

My Mechanic put seal in cover while it was off. Did not want to go in front side so we flipped over (we put the metal depth quide tool in the front side) use a large impact socket to tap seal in.

Flipped back over checked to see if it was cock eyed (it was a little) tapped the depth quide tool with hammer( that made it even up) put the plastic seal spreader in(seal spreader comes out as you put cover on). Silconed the cover and put it on. Put all the bolts in then started to hand tighten them and then torqued them. The rest was a breeze. Well except it took a lot of elbow grease to torque the damper bolts to 92 lbs.

Did take photo of tab fix.

Oh yeah truck has 130,000, engine is at STOCK HORSE POWER.

But the main thing is the KDP =dp and won't give me any troubles :D Oo. :D !!!
