Finally Ordered One

As Joe D suggested, I went to the Ford site and was blown away by not only the number but the seriousness of the motor issues. Thanks to all the input from you all I decided on another Dodge and ordered it today.

Got a screamin' deal from a local dealer--- selling price was $10 LESS than Steve White Motors and he beat them on the trade by over $1000! For anyone in Southern NJ, I have a dealer for you... and another to avoid at all costs. I'm not sure I can post that information here, though (Moderators?)



New truck: 2004 Atlantic Blue 3500 Laramie SRW, every available option except Sport and 4. 10 rear.

I called DC today and my truck is in the final leg of it's journey so hopefully this week I will take delivery.

Dealer calls today with VIN # of 04 truck that I ordered. I thought cool things are happening.



Then he tell me the order stratus is D1 and the estimated ship date is OCT. 17th. and it's possible the truck could be at the dealer the first week of November.



I though NO Way. The order was placed on OCT. 6th.

One month from order to delivery. NO Way!!!!



How long does order/delivery normally take?

I orded mine 04 3500 QC SRW SWB on Sept 25th and I am also still in BX status with no VIN #. Sound like I ordered the same truck as thepipe1. Atlantic Blue, Laramie, every option ex. 4. 10

Don't call DC again as you'll proberbly get a different story on when it will arrive or where it is on the way to it's new home. For the last week, I was getting the run around from DC and my dealer on where my order was after it was built but yesturday I was able to get a Vehicle Shipment and Delivery Status. Here it is below.

hmm, i still haven't been back to see my dealer to see what the status of my truck is... ordered aug 29... hopefully it'll be here last week of oct/first week nov... but i don't like dealers at all... [that's why i'm not going back/calling back to get info]

My dealer ordered a new truck last week (oct. 9) and he got the VIN yesterday oct. 14... ... . from this point, the dealer told me it will take "about 8 weeks" to receive the truck. I am located in Canada. The truck is a 2004 3500 Dually, 3. 73LSD, Patriot Blue, Auto, QCab.

Denis, I am happy for you! I just wish Dodge would get there act together!

We must have something in common on our orders for a select few of us not having our VIN# yet. I have ordered a 04 3500 SRW SWB Atlantic Blue/Silver two tone as an Laramie and every option available ex. 4. 10's, ex. nav radio. I did pass on the CD changer and choose the single CD and cassette. I order Tow mirrors, plow prep. I did want the allow wheels so they are on there I think that was std. for Laramie. Just can't figure out what the hold up is.



Personally I would rather wait right now if engineering is fixing something serious items like the power steering boxes that are failing, or heater ducts, drone, axles whine, or other serious things that I don't want to deal with after delivery. I just hope my new truck will have zero returns to dealer at 60K as my 01 currently has.



What common thread do we have?



I am in West Michigan. Could this be a dealer allotment type of thing where my great Dodge dealer is so good, and so small that bigger and worse Dodge dealers get more quantities. Like when we ordered the PT cruiser spring of 2000. Chrysler managed the allotments to give every dealer the same qty. of cars.

I ordered a 3500, DRW, 48RE, Laramie, Dark Slate Gray interior with heated Buns, tow package and mirrors, protection package, 6 CD Changer, rear defroster, Bright White, Block heater, Anti-Spin, Bug Shield, and 3:73's. Not a whole lot in common.

Drove to Dealer yesterday. Placed order and made deal for 2004 3500srw plus plus. He emailed me Von today. Now i guess i wait.
