I have posted on here several times before about my truck taking spells of running rough. It seemed to be heat related. For example running hard or pulling down the highway on a hot day with low fuel and its sure to rev up and then die when you let off the pedal. Then you had to keep your foot in it to keep it idling and drive with two feet, etc. It got to where you couldn't even drive 70 down the highway in the summer and i kept the tank full to keep the fuel cooler.
I did all the usual stuff I learned on this web site.
1)installed fuel pressure gauge
2)replaced all rubber fuel lines
3)removed my fuel solenoid, didn't work anyway
4)removed fuel heater
5)replaced overflow valve
6)replaced numerous fuel filters
I was getting pretty frustrated so I called a local diesel shop who does a lot of dodge injector work. He told me if i didn't want to spend the money to tear into it I should try some stanadyne lubricant. He said about half the time on these dodges he see's it will work. It's been a week since I put it in. I ran my tank low and its been almost 100 degrees this week. I ran it at 85 for 15 miles down the road today and not one stumble when I let off the pedal it had a strong idle where before it would have been rough at best after driving that fast. Now does anybody have any kind of explanation as to what might be wrong in the injector so I can get to the bottom of this problem once and for all?
