Waxing your camper?

Best 5er ????????????

Well- after an eternity of searching, I finally setlled for a 2001. 5 Fleetwood Wilderness. It's not the best made trailer, I'll be the first to admit, but for what we are gonna pay for it and what it has on board- it was a good deal. It's a 26. 5' rear bath mid galley with a 12' couch/dinette slide. It seems to have the nicer & larger appliances as well, a 15,000btu air (most in this range only 13,500) and its the Northwest edition (heated tanks, heavier frame, shocks, etc). About the only thing it doesn't have that we really wanted was radius entry and access doors. While we were looking I cought my shirt on one and tore it wide open. Guess I'll just have to be careful. We ended up getting it for about 19% off list, which I feel is pretty fair. They even through in the batteries (Boy was that big of them). Now- Off to the campgrounds!!!

:D :D

Congratulations!

Dkevdog-

Hey, I'm glad for you. I know how frustrating it is looking for one. I looked for almost a year before finding what I wanted.

If you think the expense is over, it isn't! I found that I needed a lot of $'s worth of items such as, power cord extension, power cord converter plugs, water hose, cable TV line, phone line, holding tank additive, leveling blocks, wheel chocks, etc. , etc. I made some of mine and had some friends make others, so you can save some $'s if you try.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, it just seems like an RV is like a truck, you never get through gathering up "goodies" for it.

I've had mine for a month and have just now got together enough accessories to take an extended trip in Aug. & Sept. Now, I've got to get an e-brake and gauges installed before leaving.

Hope you enjoy your new trailer, congrats!

Congratulatons Kev! I currently have a 98 Mallard 24' manufactured by Fleetwood that I have had great luck with. The only problem with it is the dealer had to recaulk the tub area after we purchased it and that is it. Other then general maintenance, I haven't had to do anything to it and we use it almost every weekend and have taken 3 weeklong trips with it. I probably have about 15K on it now.

I am in the process of looking for a 5'er now too but can't decide ... Hitchiker, Alpenlite, Holiday Rambler... . etc.

Have Fun!
