Tomorrow I will go and pick up my new truck. The long wait is over. I will post pictures after I get back home on Saturday. I am so looking forward to driving her.

Congrats, Dawna.

I remember your frustrations as some others (including myself) were tracking our trucks on Union Pacific's Website. I took delivery of mine on 05/30/07..... I have 5 weeks, 1 day and 1,382 miles under my belt... ... the wait is worth it.

Make sure the dealer has completed TSB 18-033-07 REV. B. There's a few threads around here concerning it already.

Hi! Dawna, You will love this new truck. As you can see I have one and have had zero problems. Truck has alot of power. Mine goes thru a regen cycle about every 70 miles and stays in regen for 10 minutes. Good luck with your truck. Jim

Congrats!Mine has been in kzl status since june 25th,still no rail car number. I wonder how much longer it's going to just sit there before it gets loaded.

Congrats Dawna - it has been a very long wait for you. I have had zero problems with 1900 miles on it now. I made a trip back to Dishman a few weeks ago and had them reflash to rev A. Rev B wasn't out at that time.

The only difference I notice is less regens, but they last longer when they occur. I have been averaging 15. 5mpg overall. Not that I'm pampering it as I want to get the engine broken in.

Enjoy!

Well I picked up the truck on Friday. Boy she just drives great. Lots of power, smooth riding, great interior (for a truck), just love hearing the exhaust brake kick in (sounds like a large semi). First tank of fuel (hand calc) was 15. 5 (overhead said 14. 8). On my second tank now so we will see what the mileage is. I am just now getting used to the "big butt" as I have never driven a dually before. Gotta watch backing up. The power in reverse is something I am not used to. Got guages installed but they put the pyro post turbo--not exactly where I wanted it put I guess it will do. So far I am seeing temps between 600 and 1000 degrees. On my drive into work this morning temps were in the 950 range. I have Rev. A installed. The 6 speed shifting is great. Trying to be easy on the engine until she is broke in. Trying to vary the speeds and at least once a week I plan on taking her out the road (hilly areas) to help with the break in process.

The only thing I don't like is the electronic shift for the 4WD but I can live with that.

I will be posting pictures later today or tomorrow as they are on my camera and I can't connect my camera to my work computer.

Overall I am very satisfied with the truck and my buying experience. I must echo what others have said about Adam and his crew. They are great to work with and answered all of my questions. The Anchorage dealer was good to work with also but they need to answer customers/buyers emails. As that is why I did not purchase from them to start with.

Hi Dawna,

Coupla parking tips:

Always take your time.

Avoid parallel parking when possible. Many of todays "spaces" are just too short for a long dually. Look for end spaces, even if you have to walk further.

If you park in an "inside" space, even if you are able to get in it,... people will trap you when they park while you are gone, and you won't get out.

Back in when possible(EASY on tht pedal). When you have a passenger, get them to watch your rear-bumper and give a "stop" signal when you're far enough back.

Use you mirror-tilt to watch your tire,... you will be able to back it right down a parking strip, if you take it slow and easy. (But leave "fender room" between the line and the tire. )

When you park head-in, you will have a harder time estimating where your fat hips are ;).

If you back those hips in carefully, your narrower front end will be alright.

Then pulling-out into traffic lanes will be safer, because you can see what's coming... remember to swing wide, to clear cars parked next to you.

Putting those hips in first will also help dodge poor drivers who cut-the-corner of your space when parking next to you.

Remember that folding your mirrors before you leave the truck will give neighbor parkers less reason to be resentful. (They're gonna be jealous anyway, of course :)

Enjoy that new rig!

Thanks Wolfy for the tips and all of the information you have gathered about the regen issue. I learned a lot from your posts and look forward to reading more about regen as information becomes available.

Good lookin' rig, Dawna! :)

Feels like a bundle of power just waitin' to be turned loose, no?

That low rpm "just loafin around" sound is quite a switch from all the revved-up small trucks/cars on the road today.

Amazing how fast that speedo climbs when you're not watching it! ;)

I might have missed a post,... did you get gauges?

yes wolfy I did get digital guages. the pyro was installed post turbo not pre like I wanted but such is life. so far post turbo temps are ranging from 450 up to 975 driving back and forth to work.

the power response if remarkable and you are right if I am not watching it the speed climbs like no tomorrow.

so far I am very pleased with her and the performance.
