guess what? these guys really have no more idea of how to help you save for retirement than you or i do. since my parents passed last year, i've heard time and time again, that "you should talk to one of our advisors". i have, and i've realized that 99. 9 percent of these guys try to keep you from moving your assets out of their control and into yours. their is no "formal" training to be a financial advisor, hell, i have a ba in buisiness mgt, and a bs in economics, but maintain turfgrass for a living. most of these folks think that they are talking to some plowboy with cow... . on his boots {and that's usually the case} but i,ve yet to hear any advisor tell me that i should get out of their particular plan and try something new. as a contractor and salesman for 20 years, i've learned that the truth sometimes hurts, but i'd rather back off a job i can't do, than flat out lie to get the business... :--)
