Well, our kids are grown, so the back seat is no problem and I have to tell you, there is a big difference in the front seats, especially if you take long trips... .

Anyway, here's a picture of the Laramie (non-Sport) truck with the Sport grill added for that "if-you-like-chrome" look.

:D :D :D

The towing mirrors are power and heated if ordered on SLT or Laramie, non-heated and manual if ordered on ST.

Jheimerl,

What do you mean, " a big difference" in the front seats ecspecially if you take long trips????Sorry for being ignorant, but is there a difference between the Laramie seats and the SLT or a big difference between the Leather front and Vinyl rear. We race snowmobiles in the winter so we take several trips with the kids to the races... .

Thanks

Lawdog, I was talking about the front, but you may have noted the Laramie rear seats do have the seude backs, so there is a "little" leather there.

On the front, the bolsters in the Laramie seats (both the cushion and the back) are differently designed than the premium. Looks like they are made by a different vendor. My wife was not interested in the leather at all, but once she sat in the seat and then rode in it for a fair distance, she pronounced it a "much more comfortable seat" than our '01 SLT premium. And I spent a bunch of time checking out the current SLT premium, and while it is not a bad seat by any means, it is a bunch different in the way it sits.

Main reason we went Laramie was to have power seats both sides, but the lack of back fatigue for both of us was a pleasant surprise.....

I have the leather seats in my truck. I have had much praise for the comfort of the rear seats from folks of all shapes and sizes. To tell you the truth, I thought the rear seats were made of the same material as the front, they sure look the same. Much better than my 98. 5 (those really looked "cheap"IMHO). The fold out floor is a great idea, especially in the 60/40 design. The only objection I ever had to leather was during hot weather, one tended to stick to the seat, the suede should take care of that both in the front and the rear as well.

my only gripe with the leather is the potential duribility of it. in more upscale cars, they use a higher quality leather. the leather in my tahoe, the color is rubbing off and cracking. the dye is not through so you see the raw leather. and it is only leather faced. if it was front and back [so no vinyl on the seats] i'd like it. when i order, i will get the premium cloth seats. i can always re do the fabric for leather at a later date...

Hi all, I am reading the 03 Ram Brochure and find some differences from your posts, could you clear these up for me as I am making my list;

I have picked a 3500 SLT/Laramie

In the Mirrors list it shows dual trailer tow, power folding optional on SLT AND Larimie only (3500) doesn't say heated as it does under 2500 SLT AND Larimie standard mirrors.

Does the overhead console with trip computer have O/S temp like my 95?

I read on another thread not to order the 'security group' if you intend to add remote start. I have Command Start presently and really like it as it has the programmable temp. start.

I have picked the Premium cloth seats.

Nobody has mentioned the power adj. pedals. How do they work?

I have left off the body side mouldings as I don't like the looks. I will apply S/S like my 95.

Going with SRW as my 5th is only 12,000# . Have picked all other options except box liner as I will do Linex. Chrome bumpers and grille. Don't like the cab lights but they are standard so guess I could take them off and fill. 3. 73 Ratio with 48RE. long box QC.

Any sugestions welcome. By the way price is $43,400. 00 Can. $

X . 63=$27,342 US$. We have no discounts available, this is 4% above invoice.

The tow mirrors are heated

The trip computer shows outside temp and compass

I think the Laramie package comes with leather, maybe you could substitute. If you get leather, get the heated seats

:D

Security group comes with the package.

Power pedals are great.

Good Luck.

Hey Balzak,

I just noted your location on your sig. If it was me I'd definetely give the heated leather seats a second thought. They are really nice and I live far south of you. :)

Dean

Balzac,

Your price looks OK, but you report it is 4% above invoice. Is that right? Several dealers are selling at as much as 1% below invoice. For convenience I ordered from a local dealer at $100 below invoice, less the incentives.

I looked at the power pedals, and decided against them. My wife sat in the seat and adjusted it for comfort, and did not need to move the pedals at all. She is 6" shorter than I am, but her legs are just as long. We intend to keep it a long time, so resale was not a big consideration - which could be another reason to get the power pedals.

great truck

heated seats - a must...

the tow mirrors are awesome - great visibility and heated. u cant beat em especially with a dually - you can see everything, and even the little convex inserts are heated too!
