Adjusting the temperature on the oven

Slider hitch question

With the new truck, I upgraded to the Prodigy. I LOVE the numbers and the CONCEPT of the boost setting, since, in theory, it will make adjustments between my 12K gooseneck horse trailer and my 5K bumper pull much easier. I'm having a little difficulty fine-tuning the Prodigy for the big trailer.

Based on the trailer weight, I set the boost to 6. 3 and the volts to 6. 8 (I go down an 8% grade for a couple miles almost immediately after I leave my place). This works great; this setting also seems to work great on the freeways.

Where I run into issues is in town traffic. Stuck in Seattle traffic at 5MPH stop-and-go, the trailer brakes would jerk us whenever I tapped the brakes. Is it the boost or the volts that I should be adjusting? I moved the boost down to 6. 2 and the volts to 5. 5, but it still was pretty jerky.

FYI, I don't think it's the trailer. I've towed it 15K miles over the last four years including a couple thousand with the old Furd earlier this year.

Thanks!

Cheryl
