I had one on my old 96 12 valve for over 40k, no issues. Tightened it with a pair of channel locks, approx 3 fingers worth. Dunno if you could get a socket on it to use a torque wrench.

Will be gettin one for my 10 in the next genos order. .

The only wrench I had that fit, was a 17mm. In the instructions, it said use a Crescent Wrench to tighten. I might have a 17mm socket that would fit. The gasket appears to be compressed paper, don't know if that is the same as the one on the old drain plug.

i lke the brass ez-drain from genos it is a low profile and comes with the hose and the does not hang down to low, maybe a cresent or 27 mm socket to install, just have to rinse and clean the drain hose and keep it in the toolbox or put it in a capped pvc tube to store it. the flow of oil is regulated by how much you tighten the fitting to the valve and is controllable . it has a copper washer that goes to the pan.

Do yourselves a favor and loose the paper gasket, mine split right after I changed oil and installed the drain valve. Go to an auto parts store and get a dead soft copper gasket. About 20 cents.

Heres mine. . Just tighten it like a normal drain plug. . but not too tight. .

Had one of these on my old 2001 2500. . no problem in 100K miles
