I redid my front brakes yesterday on my 92 and they stop great. All parts were from NAPA except the pads were from Sam Peterson in Washington.

The hardest part was location the correct rotor bolts, I finally got the OEM number and it cross referenced to a good part number NAPA had for the rotor bolts. The OEM number is 4116934.

For those that want the numbers, I used from NAPA they are listed below.

Rebuilt calipers unloaded: 2423020S and 2423021S.

New rotor: 86025. 2ea.

Brake Hoses: 38171. 2ea.

Oil Seal: 22835. 2ea.

Bearing: BR15245. 2ea.

Bearing: BR15101. 2ea.

Bearing Set: BR35. 2ea.

Rotor Bolt: 641-3114. 16ea.

Hardware Kit: 82115. 2ea.

New Master Cylinder: 39712 1ea.

Wheel Nut: 641-2126 16ea.

Carbo Met Brake Pads: CMD269. 1 set.

I also installed speed bleeders in the rear wheel cylinder and front calipers: SB3824. The only thing I messed up on was not getting the right speed bleeder for the RWAL module so I left the original fitting in. The speed bleeders make it a so easy to bleed the brakes.

I followed the procedure in the manual on how to bleed the brake system and it works great and the anti lock light didn't come on. The procedure is: Master Cylinder, RWAL, right rear, left rear, right front and then left.

I also used Dot-4 fluid and high temperature wheel bearing grease. I also changed out the races in the hub before installing the new bearings.

I hope the above numbers will help somebody in the future. I also don't want to see this thread become a war on brake parts and vendors. To each his own.

Jim, great post. I don't need brakes right now but I will and posts like this make ones life so much simpler. All the numbers and prices.

Thank you

brakes

:)Jim, thanks for posting the numbers, I'll jot them in my book for future referance. This kind of consideration for others on this site is what makes this a great place. Tim :)

RAMAZ, I am sure glad you NOW have brakes especially if you are behind me. It sounds like you basically jacked up the Radiator Cap and replaced the rest of the truck. (joke).

Great post, The numbers are really helpful when you go into our local NAPA and behind the counter is a "Fresh out of Highschool girl helping you. When she aske you "What color is it?" you know you are in trouble.

One good thing about these trucks is: You don't own it long before you start to know all about its internal workings.

Before you know it you will have replaced the rear axle seals, adjusted your TPS, adj. all of the linkage, hunted for numerous rattles, changed out the Turbo, replaced the Air Cleaner, larger exhaust system, added gauges, exhaust brake, wondered why the lights on the dash won't go out, fixed the growl in the rear end, and then someone comes along and suggest that you "MESS WITH THE PERFECTLY GOOD INJECTOR PUMP", ya gotta love this TRUCK.
