"6 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 dualies total in fire in transit

I work for Union Pacific Railroad and notice that our auto facility in Spring, Tx has six 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Dualies has been totaled out in a fire that started in one of the trucks while on the railcar in transit. The fire was reported by someone in the Bryan College Station Texas area and the train was stopped for the fire to be extinguished. The railcar was sealed up with all of the security devices intact making it difficult for the fire fighters to put the fire out. I spoke with the railroad police and they stated that one of the trucks had some kind of a short in the electrical system that was believed to cause the fire and was not vandalized. They also stated that this has happened before and only on the Dodge Dualies for some reason. I just wanted to let everone know about this in case a electrical short is causing this. "

Sure hope mine wasn't one of them. It didn't say if they were pickups or cab and chassis models.

Seen that on the dealer lot before fortunatly never lost a truck to it but it sure makes a mess of things if it does get going...

REad the other forum, and they say someone stole a battery, and the hot wire shorted the remaining battery causing the fire.

My truck has been on order for about five weeks. It is a 3500 duad cab dually, white,Lar. ,4x4. Wonder?, what are the odds--- :(

ABS circuit incident

A friend of mine's parents had a garage fire when one of their nearly identical Lexuses (Lexi? :D ) caught fire. Toyota FLEW an engineer from Japan to Evansville, IN (their Tundra plant is just up the road in Princeton) the next day and what they found was that the ABS circuit had caught fire when it overheated. Apparently, a glitch in the system kept the ABS circuit armed and firing after his mom turned off the key. The only thing they could figure was that she still had her foot on the brake when she turned the key to "off. " Toyota took care of everything.
