I need some suggestions on mounting a fire extinguisher, any of you members carry one in your truck? If so how and where did you mount it? I know it's not so much for my truck, not being as flammable as a gasser, but you never know when someone will need a little help and you're the one passin by. Just need some thoughts on it, thanks guys.

Really didn't mount mine. Simply slipped it under the center seat and rests against the driver seat frame. Hasn't moved for almost 3 years (except for cleaning under there :p ).

Guys

Please think about that 2 or 5 pound fire bottle floating around in your cab. A good friend of mine had a bottle attached to the A piller on the right side of a Mustang. One night he got hit broadside on the left. The fire bottle broke the strap and hit him on the right side of the head. He was in a coma for 2 weeks, off work almost a year and lost his hearing on the right side. In case of a wreck you have a potentally fatal projectile fighting for space in the cab. If you have it the cab make sure it is SECURED.

I used the products mounting bracket and mounted it to the drivers seat frame in front. I have had no trouble with it getting in the way of my feet.

Thanks alot guys for all the suggestions and advice, I too have a regular cab so I have to be efficient with space. Anybody ever have one "blow" or go off in their cab? At my job I've seen 3 go off in the vans, uncomfortable to breathe and a deffinate potential accident causer, also cleaning up the powder (which used to be my job as I was a bus washer) was a PITA, it goes everywhere! Thanks again guys!

Just a couple of thoughts

Consider a 10# bc minimum. It could be bracket mounted in the bed of the truck or in a tool box.

I have a 5 lb. halon extinguisher. Got that because I would hate to clean up the mess from a regular AB bottle. My truck is a Quad Cab with the tray under the back seat. It fits on top of the small left forward compartment.

Fire extinguisher

I have mounted mine in back under the drivers seat, there is a small notch that the extinguisher sits in just perfect.
