Was driving around Indianapolis Saturday morning on I465, On the southeast corner We saw a 2nd Gen Dually with the cab on Fire. I mean Big fire. Flames were pouring out both windows, There was a large hole in windshield near where the mirror should hang, Fire & Smoke everywhere. Driver was standing 150 feet away, talking on the phone. My brother in law drove by about an hour later, said you could not even tell what color it was. Tires & Fenders were burned off, nothing left of the cab except the steel parts. It kinda makes ya nervous to see things like that, when the vehicle looks just like what you drive. So, beside the obvious "I fell asleep & dropped a lit cigarette" theory, what might have caused this? anybody ever have anything get hot under the dash? Just a wondering. P.

With the amount of Overheating headlight switches out there, I wouldnt be surprised if that were a suspect. Also when owners add aftermarket electrical devices without putting in a in line fuse gotta be up there in the top 10

Welcome to the TDR. The light switch heating up is worrysome but you don't hear of trucks catching on fire allot so I would think the problem isnt so bad. I have a fire extinguisher mounted in the truck but getting to a fire behind the dash could be tricky, at least it would save most of our investment I guess.
