I have had the Firestone air bags, compressor and dual controlls installed on my 95 2500 for about 110,000 loaded miles and they have worked great. I have been carrying a heavy pu camper and the bag and controll works well for many things. In a side wind I can air up the up wind side and the truck stays upright and steers normally. When I load the trailer I air the bags up to level the truck. At a camp site I can level side to side and front to back. I have had no problems with the system.

I have used the Firestone airbag for several years now and they are great. I feel you can't go wrong here when they are installed right. I don't have the automatic leveling. I run the air line to the rear of the truck close to the trailer hitch. When I hook the 5th wheel up I air the bags to 40 lb. psi. and the ride is great. When not towing I let all air out for a smoother ride. If you don't have a rocker 5th wheel hitch they really help on uneven ground to hook and unhook. I haven't had any problems.

I have had these air bags for a couple of years. First installed them with just air fittings. A month later I installed the compressor and cab controls. I removed my overload springs and just use the air bags as needed when loaded. Usually only takes about 30# pressure to level 5ver. Ride is much improved and you can keep your truck level.
Happy hauling!!!!

I have had Firestone air bags on my truck for over 275,000 miles and haven't had any problems whatsoever. I haul oilfield supplies and frequently haul 6,000 to 7,000 lbs on my 10' flatbed. Without overload springs, the air bags have worked perfectly, keeping the truck level whatever weight is hauled. Bouncing across I10 in Louisiana, and watching the dual gauges pegging the needles occasionally caused me to redo the brackets and install dual air bags. (2 to a side) This has worked perfectly and I believe gives me a little safety factor on the loads I carry. I have grossed 16,000 lbs several times (no trailer) and the Firestone's have worked perfectly.

I had Firestone Ride-Rites on my 99 2500 and was very pleased with them other than a problem with them making contact with the frame even without a load!!! I went to the rv dealer that installed them and showed them what was happening, they called Firestone and they said to remove them.

This was the deciding factor in trading my 2001 Elkhorn 8s cabover camper. I now have a 30 foot Aljo travel trailer and am very relived to have that 3700 pound monkey off my back... sorry I just had to vent now back to the air bags I would like to know if any one else has had this problem thanks in advance... ... .

Rog, I purchased my Firestone airbags from Earl Owen, Dallas,TX They have a webb site at http://www.weboutsourcing.net/owen/
(but I entered http://earlowen.com)and the other address came up. I have purchased many things from Earl Owen and they are great people to do business with. My air bags were jus over a little $200. Also they have just about every truck accessory you need. They have a auto parts store in Sheman, TX which is just across the Red River from Oklahoma. the ph # 1-888-746-9875, The national ph. number is 1-800-527-2006. I believe this will get you the Dallas Store.
I don't think you can go wrong with the firestone air bags. Like the others say - they work great. Hopes this works

I've had my Airlift bags on 2 trks. now, 300,000 on my 96 and 100,000 on my 00 now, and not one leak or problem. I've seen the firestones, and theres hardly any difference in the two. I gross from 20K to 26K, without over loads, and they work great.

I have had the firestone airbags on prior trucks and they work, but there is a better way. On my 3500 I pulled the factory overload springs out and replaced them with a 4 spring pack. Loaded with the camper and gear,4600 lbs. in the bed,the truck handles great under all conditions that are drivable. When the truck is unloaded it maintains the factory ride because the overload springs come away from the frame stops. They also cost less than an airbag system and there is no leaks possible,in the lines or the bags. So far on this winter trip from Alaska to Key West to New Orleans the truck, with the camper and trailer we've logged over 13,000 miles and it works much better than airbags have in the past.

I've got the firestone air bags on my 3500 and couldn't ask for anything better. Although the instructions advise against running the bags without at least 10 pounds of pressure, I have used them empty for ride comfort. Two years now wihtout any problems. I not only like 'em, I think they are the best out there. Dave
