You would think that after the trouble Firestone had had they would take a little more care of their current customers, but thats what we get for thinking!

Made an appointment to get my annual replacement (55,000 mile) of Bridgstone 285 x 16 Dualer AT's.

Went to the company store in Prices Corners, DE and after about 30 minutes truck was taken inside.

After about 10 minutes, I left the customer area to look out the window into the shop, only to see the my hood open and the but and feet bottoms of a tire buster sticking out!!!!

Asked Chuckie just what in 'ell was going on and was advised they had to get the serial number.

I loudly advised him the serial number was on the windshield and the door post and they had no business under the hood. Ole Chuckie said that was their standard procedure!

As I started toward the truck, ole' Chuckie said if I was going to act that way, they didn't have to put new tires on my truck!

Gee, imagine that, Chuckie was doing ME a favor selling me tires!

I got in and started the engine, and told them they had ten seconds to open the door. And Oh by the way, after 40 years as a Firestone customer, the next ones won't be Firestone.

Boy Chuckie showed me!

I did contact Firestone Marketing by e-mail with no results.

I wouldn't have given them 10 seconds to open the door. Ol' Chuckie would have had to get himself out from under the hood of a moving truck if that had happened to me!

I comparison shopped Firestone when I replaced my stock Michelins and ended up at good ol' Discount Tire Warehouse. I had a feeling Discount Tire had the best price, but just wanted to check... they beat Firestone by $200+ when comparing 285/75 Duellers to 295/75 BFG AT's. They treated me right, priced the tires right, and had them on the truck in under 30 minutes.

Personally, I haven't been back to actually do business with Firestone (and I was a 10 year customer) since they screwed up my front end alignment about a year ago and the manager and I had a falling out.

I guess they really DON'T need my business.

Duane

Denny, How you doing, buddy? That's a heck of a note when a dealer treats you like that. What serial number were they after. Why not the VIN like the dealers use? You know, get it through the windshield.

I was a Firestone user up until my last go around with a local Firestone store. I told them the tires I wanted. They didn't have them in stock so they decided they would a different size on and not bother to mention it to me. Idiots. That ended a period of about 15 years where I purchased nothing but Firestone for my replacement tires.

They did u a favor. Firestone HAS NO WARRANTY !! I'm sure glad that my 01 came with Michelin tires. I see they are still putting firestones on Ford pickups & GMC Tahoes.
