Any preference between the two brands of air bags? will be using the product that goes in place of bump stops due to B & W goose neck hitch.

I've been happy with the Firestones on both of the CTD's I've had but I don't remember hearing anything bad about the Pacs either. Seems like their both pretty good.

The Pacbrake Airbags were an easy bolt on. Work great. Two of my friends also run the Pacbrake Airbags with zero problems. No experience with the Firestone bags.

I think if you look at the mounts for both, you'll find that the PacBrake unit has heavier metal parts that have better support... .

If I ever install air bags again on my truck, I'll install PacBrake air bags. Looking at their literature, they appear to have a more substantial mounting base than Air Lift I had been using. I replaced my Air Lift 5K air bag system with Timbrens because the driver side Air Lift mounting base bent from insufficient support and misaligned the bag. So far, my Timbren system is working satisfactorily.

I compared the two and chose the Pacbrake. Seamed to be better built, had more middle reinforcement. They worked fine with my hitch.

The Pac is on a complete different level from the Firestone. Having said that the Firestones I had on my95 gave excellent service, with the exception that I had to reinforce the brackets. The Pacs I installed on the 04 are a AWSOME-BUILT-ENGENEERED product. I am sure I wont have to weld on reinforcements. Easy Install Go Pac and forget about them

Pac or Firestone Air Bags

Thanks for all the information. I ordered the Pac Air Bags from Genos last night. I did stop at Summit Racing and the brackets on the Firestones that Bolt on looked substantial. The ones that bolt on in place of the Bump Stops did not appear as they were made of as heavy of steel!
