Would I be a Bad person if I bought these tires? (265-75/16E) I can get these for 108$ while the Bridgestones I wanted are 40$ more? I would save about 160 bucks. I know they are used on Phords and Chevy's(gag) Will It cause me to cross over (fat chance). Has anybody put these tires on their Dodge? Thanks

Steve,

I have them on my truck got them about 2 months ago i needed tires for the first snow storm and my uncle work's for Firestone so i got a good deal $86 a piece. i don't know anything about the wear but hope they last,i never had any tires last more then about 35000 miles.

My friend runs the Steeltex A/T's and has had good luck with them... . getting usually 45000-55000 out of a set with proper rotation. He's on his third pair and seems to like them.

I had 265X75 Steeltex A/T's - real quiet, E rated, wore very well - sold two to a fellow TDR member that had 15k on em over a year back. I like the Coopers I have now, they are great in the snow and are wearing fine. Only thing they are horrible to keep balanced on the stock chrome wheels. The Steeltex's were not part of the recall and had no problems. If I towed I go back to them in a heart beat.

They are a fine tire, I think you'll be fine with them MHO. If you are worried about looks turn the letters in.

Truck on!

:) Thanks, guys

Last night somebody told me Phord canceled their contract with Firestone? Is that right. As far as the tires, I was just wondering about A "Ford" tire on my Dodge. I'll probably get them if I don't find any I like better for the same price.

My brother in law had them on his 2002 F350 PSD and had a trouble (blowout) Freaked him out and he bought 5 new Michelin LTX/AT's. Truck only had 15K on it. But you can't go by what my brother in law did since he bought a Ford in the first place. I would go to Your local Sams club and get a set of their Michelin X tires for around $130. Can't beat Michelin :)

Steve, get the ones you want. The difference works out to only . 0026 cents per mile over a 60,000 mile normal use period. Thats $5. 00 per month if you drove 2000 miles a month. No big deal, buy the Bridgestones ;)

I changed from Badyears... ... ... to these Firestones before winter this year. After having driven the dually through snow with the Badyears, I was hoping to get better traction.

Result, these Firestones ROCK. They are great all around tires, dry, wet, snow... ... . all have excellent traction.

Personally, I would not put Firestone/Bridgestone tires on any vehicle where I cared about the safety of the occupants. Firestone has had a history (over 30 years) of making tires that kill. I would rather put the POS Michelins back on.

I never have ran Firestone's on my dodge, i bought a few sets when i had a 96 f250, they were pretty good on it but i went to Michelin for better durability. BTW Firestone and bridgestone are the same company, so if u want a brigestone but can only afford the Firestone don't worry the only difference is the label;)

I'm still undecided what to get, I originally wanted 285's but seen I could get some 265's in an E and wanted them instead to keep my Acceleration and mileage,I have

to tell how much fuel I have left by thetripometer:my fuel guage is on 1/2 tank by 120 miles@19-20mpg. Does anyone know of any other E load range 265's in an all-terrain?

Thanks, Steve
