On Tuesday a bunch of friends and I went to a local drag strip (Atco Raceway) to see what all our trucks would do. It was my first time ever racing along with most of my buddies, considering im 17 and this is my first truck. I was the only diesel there and I know people were getting a kick out of seeing the smoke and hearing me spool the WH1C at the line, I would get the engine wound up a bit, somewhere around 1700rpm and when I would launch it would cherp the tires a bit.
Well I my best for the night was a 17. 750 @ 74. 37 and I was beating on a couple of my buddy's gassers.
Since It was mostly for fun I wasn't really intense about my reaction time because none of us are really good in this department yet. We plan on going back next week and Im going to work on the reaction time.
A couple things I need to do, I have not put im my guages yet (sitting in the boxes), another thing is when my dad(BMancin) and I rebuilt my transmission the valve body needs some adjustment, the truck holds out 3rd a wile and I usually need to back off the throttle for a shift into overdrive. On my best run I just kept the the pedal on the floor and it shifted at the end.
I think for the minor mods done I the old 94 did fine. Now I need to get some more fuel and the 4k GSK!
