first 1st gen question nv4500

My dad just picked up a 90 1st gen cummins 5 speed all stock. I have nv4500 out of my 99 24v what would it take to put thenv4500 in the 90 1st gen?

Mainly the adaptor bellhousing and a few other goodies, call Blumenthal in

OK City and they will walk you thru it and sell you the kit and drop ship. Lots of these guys do the job themselves. I paid a shop to do mine when my old getrag went bad. They give a 6 month unlimited miliage warranty even on commercial and are super to deal with. The changeover was cheaper than a rebuild on my old one. R C

Do you have a web site or phone number for Blumenthal? Hear are the parts I have out of the 99 24v nv4500 with bellhousing, np241 transfercase and i have the engine adapter plate.

If you have all the pieces you listed I think all you'll have to figure out is how to adapt the slave cylinder. The first and second gen trucks used and entirely diffrent slave stup and the "adapter" bellhousing allows for this.

will I beable to use the first gen t-case or will I have to get a adapter? What t-case do first gens have? np205?

First gen's use the NP205. As long as you have the aluminum piece that bolts on the back of the transmission case (enclosing the overdrive gears) that has the round bolt pattern I think it will bolt up. Seems like I remember having to shorten the splined collar in the lathe or something though... ... Been too long ago.
