At 7,000 miles I had 3 ball joints and 2 tie rods replaced. Now at 18,000 it's in the shop getting a new steering gear put in it!!! I converted from a Ford, and really love this truck!!! Love everyhting about it, but this is getting rediculas!!! on a good note (I guess) the tech said it's the first one he has ever done on the 3rd gen. That is what they said about the ball joints and tie rods too! Man this sucks!

Not only that but the transmission cooler blew in the first 500 miles, transfer case seal blew out at 13,000, and now I think the AC unit took a crap (they are also looking at this now as well).

Did I get a lemon, or whats the deal! like I said I love this truck, but I don't want an unreliable rig, especially after paying $40,000. It seems like most people here have had good luck with their trucks. I hate to buy another, but I think I might need to look at this option. What do you guys think?

I think you need to do a forum search on 3rd Gen's and you will find that a lot of people are having the same problems you are. Except you havn't got to the u-joints and drive shafts yet.
