First contact with another vehicle - Rant

I was making a left turn and halfway through the turn I feel the truck get nudged. No sound. Some lady hit my right reat tire. She was turning rignt from the same road that I was turning from. She was coming the other way. I pull over and she gets out and tels me that the right side of her car, which has a scratch all along the fneder will have to be repainted at my expense. The geometry dosen't work for that one. I called the cops.



The cops come and look at her left front headlight assembly. Sure enough, black smudges from my tire. He tells her it's her fault and then finds out that she is unregistered.



Now my insurance company says they have ti figgure out if my rates will go up. I'm not making a claim.

I wouldn't make a claim either. It's a joke that they make YOU pay for something that SOMEONE ELSE did to YOU. The Ins. co should go after HER.

Insurance = license to steal

I have had the same type of thing happen, pay for years, 10s of thousands of dollars, make a claim that was not your fault and they raise your rates or worse cancel you.

Insurance companies are a joke..... a real big joke.



Personally I wouldnt make the claim on this one... . U do have a police report I hope. On the next one (god forbid) make a claim if needed, then drop the company.



I've done it before..... amazing how hard they'll try and get you back sometimes... . I just tell em too bad, U had your chance.

They might be just trying to bully you. Most of the insurance people are smart enought to drop little hints like that and people wont file. I say file and if they raise your rates ask em why? No good reason switch companys.
