hi fellas first time on the forum. i purchased a 1993 CTD in nov of 02. it is a 4x4 std cab with 3. 54 lsd and a A-518. the miles are 57000 orig miles. family friend owned it (70 yrs old). truck is comp stock but i took the cap off the fuel screw!!!. saving my ducketts for a 16cm housing and some pod's. pump timing is stock also. i want to kill the kdp asp!!!!. i have a autometer trans temp gauge so i will get the pyro and boost to match. what i would like to know is if you turn the fuel up without the new housing does the power and boost change? thanks for your input !!!! you guys are very knowledgable on the ctd (bushwacker, nascar mark, sledpuller, etc. ) thanks again. jlight

You have a little smaller turbo housing than I did stock. But I turned my screw in about 1. 5 turns. I noticed no Good difference. Boost went up some but smoked like crazy, got warm VERY quick on pyrometer, and didn't really help till ~2000RPM. I turned mine back down, it wasn't worth it. I'd get the gauges in and wait till I god a different housing.

JLight,

WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME !! :D:D

The larger turbo housing is a bit "laggy" but... . if you increase your fueling you should see some increase in overall boost #'s.

Increased fueling will also result in more overall HP.

You will see some EGT increases, and more smoke since it takes the turbo longer to build up enough boost to burn the fuel properly.

Also, if you leave all you adjustments the same, and change the turbo housing to one size smaller, you would expect about 2-4 psi more boost, with the average being about 2 1/2 psi increase.

You must have guages before you install the POD's and housing.

You can go without if you don't mind not knowing you upper temps at WOT... personally, I'd want to know since I was surprised at how quickly they can jump up.
