Saw the thread on second class citizens. OK, I saw a first gen today in beautiful condition, 4x4 club cab. Only one problem. 15 psi boost on that poor old '93 automatic. Felt kinda' sickly. I parked it next to ol' Sickly, my Ram, and let it learn a bit.

One Diesel Dynamics pump kit; turned a few screws, and #ad
22 psi boost. Grin on driver's face, too. #ad

Oh forgot to mention. . . its addictive as other have found. Now we got a first gen bombaholic. He left with a set of the Prince of Darkness injectors hehehehe #ad
Guess there'll be more bombing at his house soon.
It's never to late to teach an old Ram new tricks. #ad

Good news, yet another "Seasoned" generation out to shake-up the local strip #ad
. Are the Prince of Darkness injectors insane smoke wise? The name seems to hint at that a little. My last post on this subject made me look like a unibomb, live in a shed, 1st gen fan. Seriously though, isn't it cool to pull along side a powerstroke or other new truck in our older iron and just give them that "I don't care stare". Not that my trucks are bombed out yet, but this is still fun at nearly half the price lol.

Oh indeed it's nice to blow the doors of'n the newer trucks i do it all day long!... of course all i have left to do is add Propane and i'm done... she can't take much more unless Piers shows me how to install the P7100 then it's GO-GO Gadget Cummins!

No, the P of D injectors are not real smoky. I think Piers gave them that catchy name because they are made by Lucas (>Lucifer??, yeah its quite a stretch) and are slightly bigger than the 370 hp marine injectors made famous by P-pumped Rams. They are a good bit bigger than the BD upgrade injectors sold and made famous by PowerWagon, who worked for a BD dealer at the time.

I owned three first gen Rams, but they were gas pigs (two were crew cabs). I hadda wait for a real rear seat because of the family thing.

If you ever owned any Brittish built car, or worked on any European built aircraft with Lucas electrical components, you will know why Lucas is known as "the prince of darkness"
Q: Why do the Brittish drink their Beer warm?
A: Because Lucas builds their refrigerators.
I cringe at the thought of installing any Brittish / Lucas parts on my truck, but I hear these injectors work pretty well.

OK, now I catch on. I do recall a friend's AC Cobra and the less than perfect Lucas electricals.

Hopefully BD/Piers now has these injectors in stock and you can get them from him. They have been hard to get in the past. I don't think the injectors will have any problem in terms of quality. My local Bosch shop said they had a good pattern and clean pop off (they played around with different pop off pressures for me).

Joe,
Have you tried the lucas injectors on sickly?

Just FYI... we did not get this P/N from BD, nor did they source us the injectors.

To this day, I do not know what BD sells, though I did review nozzle specs from Lucas before using the nozzles we did. There were some part numbers from Lucas I felt would provide a performance boost, but it appeared to me that they could easily be far too smoky... and our customers generally complain if thier truck smokes. The PW injectors were used because they would provide a performance increase with a pump set at or below stock specs without any significant amount of smoke during normal driving and even at WOT pulling.

Power Wagon,
While at BD testing the lucas injectors Piers took the PW injectors that I was running and tested them. He told me they were the same injector that they sell for the intercooled first gens. He also said that Wentland had bought them from BD before they became the Power Wagon injector. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

I agree that the 1st Generations Trucks are a classic already, not to mention that you don't need a "masters" degree to work on them. Its too bad that Dodge and the other manufactures have to reinvent the wheel every couple of years.
As for messing around with newer trucks, you see some of the looks I get when I pull up to a light next to a 2nd generation and rev the motor, they look a my truck and then a the "RAM 350" emblem and get confused. The emblem should say "POWER RAM 350" & "Cummins Turbo Diesel". Better yet, go to a dealer that hasn’t' seen my truck before and ask him to find parts for a 85 W350 with a Cummins, drive shaft parts are the most fun since Dodge didn't make a Crew Cab 4X4 with a 8' box let alone a Cummins #ad
