Archived First gen possible blown tcase

Broken down in Flagstaff AZ. Was driving in 4 wheel drive due to snow and the transfer case started making loud grinding sounds then locked up. Lock up is now intermitted can roll at low speed only but still have grinding noise. Shifter seem to be working, linkage appears ok, no fluid leaks.

205s have been pretty bullet proof as long as they have lube, have you checked to make sure that you have lube?

I think i got it taken care of for now had the trk towed then double checked and changed the fluid just in case no metal and was only about a 1/2 an inch below the fill plug refilled about a half a quart over and it made it into phoenix
