:{ Well, I'm no longer a lift pump virgin (that's not a good thing). Fuel pressure has always been good, but last night without warning, the gauge dropped to zero. The truck was still running and it got me home, thank god. I started checking things out today and sure enough, the pump was tits-up..... dead.

I am planning on installing a FASS, but this is my commuter so I needed to get it running today. I bought a $200 pump from NAPA that looks like an OEM. Sorry guys, but what a pain in the ***! The job isn't that complicated, but I don't have a lift so I'm on my back rolling around on the garage floor with diesel fuel running down my arm. Having to reach half way up the block while laying on the floor makes things a bit uncomfortable. But after all, I got it installed and... tada... . got fuel pressure! Things look normal again.

Do I need to worry about the HP pump now? After running the engine for about 15 miles without the LP pump did the HP pump take a hit?

Running with out a LP is never good! Only time will tell if you damaged the VP, but that will be hard to determine

When I removed or messed with my OEM LP I was able to do it from above and not get a diesel shower or wash down :-laf :-laf :-laf
