Have had my truck one month now, and have put 11,043 miles on it. About half running flatbed and the other half pulling my flatbed gooseneck. Mileage running empty is 15. 5-16. 5 and pulling the gooseneck is 9. 5-11. 0 mpg. The only problem I've had was a leak in the power steering line. O-ring blew out, was replaced but they had to tighten it to tight for an o-ring connection so they ordered a new line. The transmission still seems to be tight, especially between forth and fifth gear. Other than that, everything is great. The truck is almost too comfortable, on long all night hauls, I find myself getting sleepy for the first time. Have to stop and walk around and get more coffee. This is a recap of the first month.

You must REALLY like it to put that milage on! That would take me over a year. I finally heard one up close today at the bank drivethru. I had to wait for the suckin machine to stop before I could hear the 03! Craig

Wow EB! Nice of you to take a break from driving and give us an update on your rig. Glad to hear it's doing great :)

Well, you better bet back behind that wheel! You've got a lot of of highway yet to cover today! ;)

As you can imagine, with what the price of diesel is, it's pretty busy in the oilpatch right now. I won't always rack up the miles like this, but it is nice to have a good dependable truck to take advantage of it when it is as busy as it is now. That's the main thing, staying on the road. I'll try to post at least a monthly update, more often if something comes up or it gets slow.

Nice to see someone else getting as crappy fuel mileage as I am. All these people posting 17-20 mpg empty was really getting to me! :{

Mine are almost exactly the same as yours thru the 6000 miles I have put on.

I hear ya! 13. 5 is my best so far. All these people must be Flatlanders, too many hills for me to get over 15. I get 11. 5 towing the boat, 13. 5 commuting in the Hill Country.

This last tank was my very first one that was not 50/50 blended also. So I wonder if some of the higher mileage numbers are in warmer states. :confused: I'm getting 10. 8 as of today and I was towing 5000#'s for 1/2 and 11,000 for the other 1/2. Tank is almost gone. :( Better than the 8. 9 I got before towing 11,000.

I'm in Denver and have been driving the hills around here and the worst mileage I've ever gotten without towing was 16. 8 in a headwind. It's usually closer to 17. 75 with the best tank ever being 22. 2. That tank was 50% driving highway at 65 mph. Straight interstate at 75 - 80 mph yields closer to the 17. 7 - 18 mpg mark. Towing I get around 13 mpg at 70 mph.

Man, I'm glad it's not just me. My best mileage so far is 14. 3 with 2500 miles. I don't understand why there is such a spread for the HOs, unless some guys are not exactly being truthfull. Mine is a dually and that may make a difference, I don't know. I'm sure the blended fuel does too.
