Just got back again from Portland, and picked up 3 gals of Delo 400 and a new strap filter wrench at Schucks and went at it for the first oil change. I got the strap wrench on and another old filter wrench I had, wound the strap wrench up as tight I thought it could hold up to and they turned with the other wrench, AND IT SLOWLY started moving. Took about a quarter turn with both wrenches before it was ready for just one. At any rate, I had it off in about 10 minutes. You guys were not kidding when you said they put them on tight!!!!!!!!

However I am now :D :D ready to tow again this on Columbus Day weekend. This will be the first tow with gauges and we are going to go over a lot of passes. I will post transmission and EGT info after that tow.

Got my plates!

Well transmission temps are not a problem at all. HOWEVER EGT are a different story. With a stock truck except for the K&N air filter and towing a 9K 5er I can push the EGT pre Turbo above 1300 degrees. This is at higher RPM's in the 2700 to 2800 RPM range on big hills with OD locked out and going 63 MPH or so up the hills. Truck will only make 19 Lbs boost.

So I guess a 4" exhaust is the next item on the list. If I slow down to 50 to 55 then exhaust temps stay in the 1200=1250 range. Pulled Stevens Pass West bound at 50 MPH at the steepest part near the top.

So which exhaust should be looking at?

Jardine Kit

I have installed the Jardine 4 inch kit on two different trucks now and I really enjoy their product. What I have been doing is ordering the turbo down pipe and the pre-bent tail pipe pieces and using my own 4 inch pipe to use in the middle section without a muffler. This works well for me because I do not run a muffler anyway and it cut the price of the exhaust system in half! I love my Jardine exhaust!
