first post lost plug in

while changing fuel filter my wrench pulled a plug out and i can't find where it came from. it hasn't affected how my truck runs. it has 2 holes and can't be too far from filter?

If it isn't obvious here it goes, the oi pressure gauge works, an the starts/runs then I would guess it is the fuel heater plug. Look at the topp of the housing the fuel filter screws onto, on the firewal side a littl towards the ngine and you should see its home.

Look for a Shop Manual at Auto Zone, Geno's or other parts stores.

dont watse your time on buyin the haynes manual for the gen 1 trucks cuz it dosent cover the cummins engine#@$%!

What color are the wires?

then it probably is for the heater



from drivers side of truck looking at filter mine plugs in at a 45 deg angle from the rear



hard to see where it plugs in

one wire is all blue and the other is black and white

factory service manual should be here by end of the week

i would do like GL suggested and leave it unplugged

or, if you are adamant on plugging it back in, the fuel heater is a 1/2" thick plastic ring that the filter screws on to



the heater probably screws on to the head also, so your receptacle might not be in the same place as mine



but that is where the plug came from
