No Diesel Brake, no tow/haul/ no skid control button working

Curb weight of 2500

I just picked up my 2017 CTD a couple of weeks ago, I love this beast. Got it for towing my 8500# travel trailer. I put over 1000 miles on the truck before hooking up to the trailer. So far I've towed about 200 miles, I could not be happier!

Going down steep grades with the exhaust brake is awesome, always had a gasser before this truck and it is pretty cool slowing down at a controlled rate without
touching the brake pedal.

I have noticed without towing the trailer and not in Tow/Haul mode, the exhaust brake does not operate below 50 mph. Doesn't react in either of the two modes.
Also there is no indication of the exhaust brake % on the digital screen. Not sure if this is typical operation or not. Looking for the straight scoop on the function of the exhaust brake operation.

Thanks

Welcome! Most of us on here that have 4th gen's, drive with the tow haul/ exhaust brake 100% of the time, wether we're towing or not. The TH/Eb compliment each other nicely. Now go enjoy your new Ram....

Welcome! The new rigs are very nice. Long may she run!

The brake is less agressive without the trailer attached. In tow/haul and the exhaust brake in the auto mode it should stay engaged longer and maintain whatever your speed was when you first touched the brakes. It will disengage when the torque converter unlocks or under approx 1300 rpm.
