On my to work this morning stopped at store and got me Dr. Pepper. Pulled out on highway and Check Gages light flashed once. A few miles down the road had to stop for red light. Going thru the gears Check Gages light flashed once again. Everything looked normal. Guess I will have to take it back to dealer sometime next week for them to put there puter on it and see if it shows anything. So I guess I'm the first with problem:D

Check the sensor on the air intake. Mine came unplugged and it threw the check engine light. Simply plugged it back in and it has been fine since. Check battery cables too. It sounds like something is loose and losing contact intermittently.

JWerkeiser I checked what you suggested yesterday here at work. The sensor on the air intake was plugged in. Could not find any loose connections. Did not do it when I drove home yesterday and did not do it this morning going to work. I will call the dealer tomorrow and see if they have had this before.

I also have this problem. Twice now the check gauges light came on so I checked all the gauges and they seem normal. The light only stays on for one second or so. I took the truck to the dealer and they checked the computer for any codes and there were none. So who knows why these trucks are doing this. Although I thought there was a post about these coming on in the 2nd generations due to the broad oil pressure spectrum with these engines and it trips the idiot light.

My truck has done this twice. nothing wrong with the gauges either time. Both times the engine was at operating temps and pressures.

Well it did it again Saturday night. Just saw a flash of red maybe a second. Around 4300 now. I am off Friday and this time I will go by shop.

Flashing Too

Yeah, I have about 1700 on mine. Check gages flashed really quick 3 different times. Seems to be no method to the maddness either. If any of you guys figure out what it is, let us all know. Everything seems to work fine. I'll check the intake temp sensor.

I've seen the exact same behavior twice. It doesn't seem to coincide with anything as once was on a 40 degree day while the engine had only been running 5 minutes or so, and the other was on a nice warm day after driving for about an hour. Really quick flashes, so if you're not paying attention, you'll miss it.

You might want to check the fuel cap to see if it is sealing tight. It says right on the cap that if the cap is not tight it could cause the check engine or check gages light may come on. If that is not it there might be something else to do with the fuel system.

Just a thought.
