Rail Pressure Brief Intermittent Signal

Newbie with boost problems...

How do I get instant start? Not familiar with how long it takes to prime a common a rail system, don't want to grind starter for several minutes with new cam and lifters. Should I use starting fluid (NOT ether, I use carb cleaner, could spray diesel into intake if needed) to get and keep it running until it primes and will run on its own? I know to prime main pump by cycling ignition switch to run lift pump.

Just bump the starter and let the system prime itself. That's all I do when I change my fuel filters and it starts right up. I don't see why your scenario would be any different.

As long as you used a good Assy lube, prime the low pressure system and have assembled the high pressure system properly you’ll be fine

Did you prime the oil system? I used a homemade primer made from a garden sprayer that I connected to the top of the oil filter housing and pushed over a gallon of oil through the motor before I ever touched the key. Saw oil coming into the top end from this so I know I had oil prior to any cranking. Then I bumped the starter and allowed the lift pump to prime the fuel bowl and filters. Then I cranked it. Took two tries before it fired. That was probably the HPCR priming.

Use a good assembly lube, prefill the filter, make sure you have solid fuel to the CP-3 and you should be fine. If it doesn't fire with a couple 15 second cranks hit with some starting fluid and it should take right off, all things being good. AS long as you oil pressure comes up quickly after if fires you are good. Assembly lube will provide more protection than the oil film does for the rest of the engines life and until oil washes it out it will do the job. Even pre-lubing is not critical if assembly is correct.
