OK first tank today (not counting what was in on delivery)

1. Computer said 14 mpg

2. Hand figured was 15. 8 (milked to same spot in neck)

3. Comp. was showing distance to empty added to distance

traveled and divided by 34 gal (tank total) at 15. 9 so I think the Average MPG on the overhead is a bit low, but will let you know.

4 No vibration at any speed (up to 85) nice and smooth with a kinda nice drone to the motor that I like:D

The driving was adult (no racing) but not granny, I am 42 and have had no speeding tickets in over 20 years. The break down is as follows,

Empty

A/C on and no ideling over 2 mins

25 % city

15 % Hwy.

60 % Country (some stop signs and a few lights, not stop and go but not Hwy) most roads 40 to 55 mph.

The calcuated ave speed was 37 mph and I filled up at 1/8 th tank.

I now have 879 miles on the truck with no problems and am quite content.

I had an F-150 4X4 with a 4. 7 Triton and with the same driving I was getting from 11 to 13 mpg and never got better then 15 on the Hwy. towing my 3000 lb boat to the keys would drop to 8 or 9 mpg and this 200 hp slug was working hard. I am looking forward to pulling the boat and not knowing it.

I a happy with this smooth, quiet 6000 lb beast and think if the mpg goes up any it will be iceing on the cake.

color me on happy camper

:)

Hope this helps with anyone on the fence, I will keep you all informed, and thanks for this site.

Regards,

Scott

Congrats

Congrats on the new truck.

Remember that the DTE is actually based on 8% of the fuel remaining in the tank. It's a "safety" factor.

Hope ya love the truck.

I fill up to the neck about every 4th fillup-then reset everything, and add the total gallons since the last "full" fillup. I have similar results with the overhead being off by about 1. 5MPG (low). Mine is about 1 MPG better than yours, but it is 2WD, and I have 7000 miles, although I have been getting the same mileage (16. 7) since about 2000 miles. Like champspa said, your base curb weight is closer to 7000-it's 6775.
