Turbo/Oil question

One of my friends highly recommended this forum, so I thought I better join up. I am already really liking what I see!! ;)

I have been a Ford girl all my life. I had an '01 Powerstroke that I dearly, dearly loved. I traded it in on an '05 F-150 and was kicking myself in the butt two weeks later... . I missed my diesel!!

It hit me two or three months ago that I had to have a diesel again. The issues with the newer Powerstroke engine kind of scared me! I am very close to four people with '03 and '04 Dodge Cummins trucks. They all love them. I drove a Dodge home and started signing papers on it the next day. I'm very impressed with the power. I'm already having too much fun dolling it up and I've just had it ten days! I am very happy with it!

I wanted to say hi to everyone and let everyone know that I'll need you guys' input and suggestions!!! I'm still kinda nervous not having a Ford, but I think when I get some bigger tires on it and get it mean-looking it'll make the transition a little smoother!! :D

Thank you very much! I put it all in my signature, but for some reason it's not showing up.

I got an '06 2500 4x4 QC SWB Auto Mineral Gray Big Horn Edition SLT... I think if I had it do do over again I would have got a manual transmission (it'd probably have been cheaper and easier to mod in the future), but I love it just the same.

(And now the signature shows up!!! ;))

Welcome aboard... ... this site is addicting though, better start saving money now for future mods :D

Thanks! Yeah, I sit around just trying to place things in order of importance now... I'll look funny crawling in and out of it w/ 35's and no nerf bars, but that's what's going to happen, and soon too!!! A girl's gotta have her priorities!!!

The performance mods will be down the road, but I'm already excited about it!!!!!! Oo.

Dang no comments on a lady that loves her diesel and dumped Furd to boot. You guys are slipping, lol. Welcome to the TDR, enjoy the truck

(LOL) Where have you been all my life JMalone? ;) Congrats on the new truck :-laf

So are you married? Welcome to TDR and I don't think you will have any regrets buying the Dodge. There are a lot of Ford and Chevy diehards where I live driving Dodge Cummins' now... ... ... ... ...

Welcome to the club JMalone !

I think you'll enjoy it here. And the Cummins is an awesome choice.

Um. . Did I mention that I was cute ? :-laf

Myabe you missed the Forum rule 672 part b "All new female members must submit a picture of themselves with said truck" :-laf

Thanks for the welcome, Guys!! I must have missed the picture rule! Oops!! I was planning on getting pictures out there eventually. I've not got the truck beefy enough to show off yet ;). I have 315/70/17 BFG's sitting in the garage - just waiting on my buddy to get some free time to help with the leveling kit before putting them on.

I am married to a farm boy. He's got a 2004 3500 w/ a deweze bed. He in no way promoted my getting a new truck (it's not near as comfy as the '05 F-150 I traded in). He thinks I'm a complete fool for wanting a diesel and even a bigger one for wanting to put bigger tires, an intake, a different muffler (may dual exausts?), leather seats, eventually guages and all the power stuff Oo. Oh well... He'll get over it ;)

I am looking forward to talking to you guys and I'm sure I'll be needing ya'lls help and valuable opinions!!!

Sounds like you married the wrong guy... . :-laf

Congrats on the new Cummins.

Congrats on the new Dodge.

I traded in my 90 F250 when the third gear went on mine, my Dad still has his 97 F350 and on his second 5 speed and complains about 13 to 15 mpg with his loaded camper.

I traded mine for a 99 Dodge 2500 in 02 and really liked it better than the Ford except for the auto transmission. I traded the 99 last year for a 05 Thunder Road with a 6 speed and really like this one. My wife likes here Chevys but now I have the most Horsepower but she cant drive the new truck since she is not good with a clutch. When I cant drive to a job it sits in the drive way and she calls it a very expensive lawn orniment.

"complete fool" only means he's jealous -- pay no attention to him.

As you've noticed, most folks here drive a Cummins that happens to come in a Dodge. If the Cummins was available from another auto manufacturer, you'd find that the SAME folks would be driving them -- the Cummins is THE draw. It really doesn't matter the wrapper. Well, that's *mostly* true for a great many of us.

Enjoy your Ram, no matter what they say...

Yep... she loves her rig. Now all she needs to do is find time to have me help her get all her goodies on! ;)

When it's done I think I can persuade her to take some good pics..... :D

Do I understand correctly your hubby is already a Mopar Guy? Then I predict by the time he puts 100 miles of seat time in YOUR truck - he'll come over from the dark side!! Congrats on the truck, the cummins, and joining the TDR. This is definitely the home of the most talented and helpful!!
