I have a 2006 with a billet toque convertor, Mag-Hytec double deep pan and the Trans Go 48re upgrade kit. The work done to the transmission was peformed around 7,000 miles ago, but in the last couple of days something is going wrong. From a dead stop the transmission slips hard from first gear shifting to second gear under moderate acceleration. I am afraid to mash the pedal because I think the engine would blow before it shifted gears. Then from second to third gear the engine rpms jump up roughly 200-400 rpms and then it will shift. I have an Edge juice w/attitude that I barley take out of #3 setting. I have been babying the truck and it doesn't slip at all from first to second with the execption of the flare shifting from second to third.
My question to you guys is should I have installed (or install now) a performance vavlebody to match the new torque convertor. Has anybody had these issues before and what was the cause and solution to this problem. Could it be bad selinoids or an electircal problem. The transmission drives fine, there isn't any vibration or chattering from the gears.
The truck has 32,000 miles on the odometer and it is going to the transmission shop Monday morning for pressure testing.
I am just looking for some ideas in the mean time.
Thanks again, Chad
